Defensive Driving Course
The smart way to move you from a Restricted to a Full license six months sooner
The New Zealand Defensive Driving Course takes just nine hours and instills a lifetime of safer driving strategies for any young driver. The course is run over four sessions of two hours duration — with homework for presentation at the next session — and a one hour practical in-car session.
This intensive interactive course including both an in-car practical and in-class theory modules. It's designed for anyone who wants to learn safe driving skills for life.
You'll receive a full colour workbook, an interactive practice CD-ROM to support each session and view relevant videos.
Successful completion of the theory and practical components goes part way to completing Unit Standards 3464 and 3465.
It also takes six months off the time required on a Restricted License.
sessions are Monday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm .

Course Requirements
- If under 25 years of age you must have held your restricted licence for 6 months before commencing course
- you must bring your licence with you at the commencement of the course
- all sessions must be completed in order
- fees must be paid prior to course commencement
- the in-car practical session must be completed within 60 days of the final in-class session
