Complaint about a driver licence testing officer
You should lodge a complaint if you believe a testing officer has:
- acted inappropriately
- incorrectly failed or terminated your practical test.
Step one: Download thepractical driving test customer complaint report form.
Step two: Complete the form and send by post to:

NZ Driver Licensing will investigate your complaint internally and respond to you in writing.
Step three: If you’re not satisfied with the results of the investigation, contact or send a letter to the NZTA Access and Use Regional Manager at either of the four following offices:

- NZTA, Level 9, PSIS House, 20 Ballance Street, Wellington
- NZTA, 183 Collingwood Street, Hamilton

Complaint about a bus, taxi or shuttle driver, transport company or operator
Contact the NZ Police if your complaint involves criminal activity. Otherwise:
Step one: Contact the company (bus, taxi, shuttle or transport company) directly to raise your complaint.
Step two: If you're not satisfied with the results of any internal investigation, outline your complaint in writing and send to your nearest NZTA Access and Use Regional Manager at either of the four following NZTA offices:
